Advanced Corrosion Solutions for Thai Oil’s Hydrocracker Units in the Clean Fuel Transformation

As part of Thai Oil’s Clean Fuel Project (CFP), the hydrocracker units (HCU) underwent significant upgrades to enhance the refinery's capacity and product quality. The transformation aims to increase production from 275,000 barrels per day to 400,000 barrels per day, while producing higher-quality transportation fuels. Due to the high temperatures and harsh conditions within the HCU, Thai Oil needed an advanced solution to protect critical infrastructure from corrosion.

Solution: Densoclad 41 HT and Densoclad 70 HT
To ensure long-lasting protection against corrosion, Thai Oil selected Densoclad 41 HT and Densoclad 70 HT, which are specifically designed for high-temperature environments. These tapes provided:

• Densoclad 41 HT: A high-performance tape ideal for protecting pipelines in high-temperature conditions, ensuring a robust anti-corrosive layer.
• Densoclad 70 HT: A heavy-duty tape that offers enhanced mechanical protection and resistance to extreme environmental factors, perfect for areas exposed to fluctuating temperatures and pressure.

Results
By using Densoclad 41 HT and Densoclad 70 HT, Thai Oil safeguarded its hydrocracker units against corrosion, ensuring the durability and longevity of the equipment. This protective solution was essential for maintaining operational efficiency and reducing future maintenance costs as part of the broader Clean Fuel Project, which will position Thai Oil to meet rising fuel demand with higher-quality products.
